This term we have started 'University Afternoon'.This is an elective based program, which is carried out each Thursday afternoon. Students are provided with a variety of electives to select from. These electives vary from Cooking, Craft, Art, Science, and Physical Education. Each elective focuses on a particular skill/s that the students are involved in learning about through a more hands-on approach. Students are encouraged to swap electives on a weekly basis to ensure that all areas that are offered to them are covered. At the end of each session, students reflet on their activity and skills learnt in their 'University Afternoon book' So far, the response from students have been very positive and encouraging.....

Here's some feedback from the students......

I really enjoy University Afternoon. It is really fun because you get lots of different choices every week of things that you can participate in. It also teaches you many new skills and is a good learning experience.

Welcome back to a New Year with New beginnings.....

Rooms 1 & 3 have begun the year with a 'Flying Start'; establishing routines, procedures and getting to know each other. It has been a fantastic and positive way to start our first term. The students have also produced a classroom conduct statement, which is a set of rules which are designed to keep our classes a positive, safe and a good place to learn in.

The students have also come up with a classroom motto:

'Enjoy your learning, have some fun.......Two great classes united as one'

It has been a very pleasing start to the year!!
